The Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern love Alan Hutton. The 33-year-old Scottish right-back may not be the best player in Steve Bruce’s squad, but he can’t be accused of not putting in 100%when he steps out on the pitch. The experienced Villa man’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and the fans have been calling for him to extend his deal with the club.

Aston Villa have secured 4th spot in the Championship as they start to gear up for the playoffs. The club are currently enduring their second season outside of the Premier League although they’ll be hoping that doesn’t extend to three seasons at the start of the 2018/19 campaign. Bruce’s side will be hoping hey can win their last game of the season against Millwall as they look to hit the playoffs in a good vein of form.
As things stand, Villa will be taking on Middlesbrough in the playoffs as they sit 4th and 5th in the table, whilst Fulham will be playing Derby County. For the Villa Park faithful to advance through the playoffs and gain Premier League promotion they’ll need their strongest side fit and firing, including Alan Hutton, who’s been one of the side’s most consistent performers on the right-hand side of Villa’s defensive line despite being in the latter stages of his career.
