Wolves have made a superb start to the season this year as the Championship winners have become a tough side to beat and have pulled off two surprise draws against Man City and Arsenal which has seen them rise to 11th.
Wolves have lost four, won four and drawn four and look as though they will be nowhere near the relegation zone this season.
In order to keep up their solid start to the season, Wolves must look to strengthen in January and they must look to strengthen in midfield or up front.
Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves have formed a solid partnership in midfield but they need some Premier League quality depth and according to The Sun, Wolves are ready to put in a bid for Arsenal’s Egyptian midfielder, Mohamed Elneny.
The Breakdown
According to the report, Arsenal are willing to let Elneny leave for £15 million. In recent weeks, the midfielder has struggled with injury and is yet to make a Premier League appearance so far this season.
With Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey – for the time – and Matteo Guendouzi ahead of him, the chance of Elneny playing this season is severely limited.
He may not be an outstanding player but he could play a key role in providing some depth behind Wolves’ superb midfield duo.
Moreover, with Arsenal looking at signing Pablo Fornals, Emery could well be looking to sell the Egyptian in order to fund a move for the Villareal midfielder.
