Spurs Should Use Modric Fee To Regroup & Rebuild

With the departure of Luka Modric now inevitable Spurs must now turn their attention to finding reinforcements to add a creative guile back in to their central midfield area.

The players recent comments in the press today have all but sealed a move away, the only questions remaining are where he will end up and how much they will have to pay to secure his services.  There have been many reports bandied about regarding Modric’s current value but with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City the figure is expected to far inflated from the optimistic £22m bid Chelsea made last week.  I suspect a figure of around £33 representing a return of double what Spurs paid for him will eventually be enough to prise him away.

So if Harry can’t find anyone to lace Modric’s boots for around that value then how on earth will he find someone to fill them?  The answer simply is he can’t.  If there were other players out there with Modric’s ability then the vultures wouldn’t be circling White Hart Lane as we speak.  Harry will need to do what he does best, speculate in the transfer market and hope to find a gem.

There is no secret that Spurs are in the market for a new striker and that the Spurs Chairmen Daniel Levy is reluctant to spend big on players with no sell on value like Drogba.  This could leave Spurs in a bargaining position for the likes of Daniel Sturridge who has showed much promise in his short time in the first team at Man City, Bolton and most recently representing England U21′s.  Such a deal would leave Spurs with enough excess cash to move for Scott Parker and potentially even reunite Joe Cole with Redknapp.

A three for one deal may at least start to appease fans even if the players mentioned aren’t the eventual replacements Harry moves for.  It would also ease the move out of the club for fringe players like Jenas, Palacios, Bentley and Kranjcar releasing more funds and wages for a big markee signing.

The sale of Modric would be a massive disappointment to the fans but spent and negotiated wisely could eventually help Spurs strengthen and propel them back into the coveted Champions League positions.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
