It’s been a cracking first season at Parkhead for Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, who has secured the Scottish Premiership title and Champions League football for next season, leaving Bhoys fans here in the Transfer Tavern extremely happy!

Apart from the disastrous European group campaign earlier on this season, it’s been a real season to remember for former Liverpool man Rodgers, who is seemingly enjoying his time north of the border.

But talk here in the Tavern has quickly turned to potential summer incomings and who Rodgers should be looking to bring in over the summer months.

There’s little doubt that with some decent investment he should be targeting some established stars, but what about some young players that are beginning to make waves in the world of football?

Our landlord thinks the Bhoys should definitely be looking to bring in some bright young prospects, but who should they go for?

Well, here are THREE stars Celtic should be scouting as soon as possible…

Luka Jovic

With the future of star striker Moussa Dembele still up in the air, there’s thought here amongst Celtic fans that Rodgers needs to start looking for a new forward and one that could certainly fit the bill is Benfica’s Luka Jovic.

The 19-year-old Serbian has so much potential and has been tipped to be a future star, despite only making a handful of appearances for the Lisbon side’s first-team this season.

He was Red Star Belgrade’s youngest ever goalscorer before he made the move and the future is looking bright for Jovic.

Antonio Sanabria

21-year-old striker Antonio Sanabria is currently on the books at Real Betis and he’s another player that has been highlighted in La Liga as a future star, if he can start playing at his best.

He’s scored five goals in 20 appearances for Betis this season having moved there last summer but there’s thought amongst their fans that there’s still so much more to come from him in the future.

But with Celtic needing to find a new striker, could he make a name for himself at Parkhead if the Bhoys do make a move?

Zhang Yuning

Rarely do we see Chinese forwards making it in Europe but that’s certainly not the case for Vitesse Arnhem’s Zhang Yuning, who, at 20-years-old, is showing some serious promise indeed.

He moved to the Netherlands after coming through the Hangzhou Greentown academy and has scored three goals in 22 appearances this season, mainly from the bench.

But over the coming months, Yuning will have to make a choice as to whether he wants to find first-team football or persevere at Vitesse. But a move to Celtic would certainly give him the chance to win silverware and play in the Champions League and as a seriously bright looking forward, Celtic fans here in the Tavern want Rodgers to keep an eye on him.
