Sunderland: Fans happy with George Dobson exit

Sunderland fans have been reacting to the news that George Dobson has joined AFC Wimbledon on loan until the end of the season.

Dobson made the move to the Stadium of Light from Walsall in July 2019, and he has failed to make a real impact at the club. Last season, he did make 29 appearances in League One, but he has been included in the starting line-up in the league just five times this term (Transfermarkt), and it was clear that he was not a big part of Lee Johnson’s plans moving forward.

The 23-year-old has come in for criticism in the past from the club’s supporters, and it is fair to say that they are quite happy to see him go. The news was announced on the club’s official Twitter account, and the fans took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.

Let’s see what the fans had to make of the Dobson exit below

“Makes complete sense. All of our centre midfielders do the same job. About his level, fighting relegation in league one. Good riddance.”
