Journalist James Hunter has revealed that Kristjaan Speakman is set to become Sunderland’s new technical director/sporting director.

Speakman is currently the Academy manager at Birmingham City, where he has been working for the past 14 years. There had already been suggestions that the Black Cats were looking to take Speakman to the Stadium of Light, but Hunter has now confirmed the rumours.
It looks as though this could be one of a number of changes at the club in the coming weeks and months. Stewart Donald, of course, is set to sell his majority stake to Juan Sartori and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, although William Storey still remains keen on purchasing the north-east outfit.

Who? Can’t comment, never heard of him. Is that a good or bad thing. Time will tell.

Irrelevant until Donald and Methven go completely.

Think it’s a great appointment to be fair

Seems quite well thought of. Birmingham have has some good successes bringing young players through

To be fair you can’t knock this move. He looks extremely well qualified for the role and not having any connections with Eastleigh is obviously a massive plus as well. But on another note, if Sol Campbell becomes our new manager I’m becoming a South Shields supporter.. #SAFC https://t.co/F0ZRlmIwR0

More evidence that a takeover maybe close. Don’t know much about this guy… but a quick google is good reading. https://t.co/prVQIaI9Bm
