Sunderland fans have been hoping for a lot today, and with their club looking to be taking action to help them achieve promotion, you can’t blame them. Things have got off to a great start, though, with the Black Cats announcing the signing of Lewis Morgan on-loan from Celtic, and the fans have loved seeing it.

Sunderland is a club that last season you’d have been mad to join. However, Lewis Morgan can go to the Stadium of Light in the knowledge that they’re on the up. The 22-year-old joined Celtic from St Mirren after being a key player under Jack Ross when he achieved promotion from the Scottish Championship last season, and now he looks set to be a key player under Ross again in another promotion push.
The Mackems are currently sitting 5th in League One, however, they have three games in hand over the league leaders, Luton Town, and if they win those three games then they’ll be level on points at the top of the table. Morgan’s tally of 14 goals and nine assists was key to St Mirren’s promotion last season, and if he can match those kinds of numbers this season then there’s no reason why the Stadium of Light can’t get back to the Championship.
