Sunderland should sign Manchester United custodian to replace Jordan Pickford

Sunderland's Jordan Pickford celebrates after the game

The Sunderland fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are in mourning this weekend as goalkeeper Jordan Pickford edged closer to the exit door at the Stadium of Light following the acceptance of a £30 million bid from Premier League outfit Everton.

The Black Cats faithful have been supping at a frantic rate since Tuesday when the news was announced that a big had matched the club’s valuation of the highly-rated stopper.

With Sunderland set to embark on the Championship next season it doesn’t really come as any major surprise to see that the club is beginning to lose its best players back to the top flight.

It does, however, leave a massive void for the Black Cats to fill between the posts and the club will undoubtedly now enter the market for a goalkeeper ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

One man who might be an ideal replacement for Pickford is Manchester United youngster Dean Henderson, who is seemingly set to leave the Red Devils this summer in quest for more frequent first-team football.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Grimsby Town in League Two and in performing well he now looks likely to step up a level or two for next season.

Sunderland would be wise to pounce on the United youngster now to avoid the young stopper being picked up by another Championship club before the big kick-off.

One Black Cat supporter is nursing a hangover from hell here in the Tavern and he doesn’t know a great deal about Henderson, although he does suggest that United have a proud history of producing good goalkeepers so he would welcome the custodian with welcome arms.

Sunderland fans, would you welcome Henderson to the club? Manchester United fans, just how good can Henderson be? Let us know in the comments below!!!
