Our resident Manchester United supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are starting to dream after reading the news filtering in from the Express – with the media outlet suggesting that the club are free to secure a bargain deal for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
The news has certainly caused a fair few pints to be spilled, with the United contingent excited about the prospect of seeing the Portuguese maestro in a Red shirt once again.
Spanish publication Sport claims Ronaldo will be made available for £48 million, and our landlord here in the Tavern admits that would be a bargain for a club like Man United, as he is going to guarantee you goals, goals and more goals!
The 118-goal forward, has of course, already enjoyed a fruitful stint at Old Trafford before his mega money move to Real Madrid in 2009, so it would hardly be a culture shock for the player if he was to move back to the Premier League.
Ian, a passionate United fan enjoying a pint here in the Tavern, had this to say on the matter: ” I would sign up Ronny in a heartbeat, the man isn’t human, he would win us the Premier League next season without a shadow of a doubt!”
Man United fans…. What do you make of this news? Can you imagine Ronny back at Old Trafford? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
