The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern love to see young, homegrown talent make it through the ranks at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have a rich history of youth development stretching back years, with the famous Class of ’92 arguably the most significant example.
More recently, the emergence of Marcus Rashford has proven that there is still a lot of talent to be maximised within the Man Utd youth setup, and it appears as though the Old Trafford faithful have already identified the next player that they want to see make it at their club.
Man Utd’s under-23 side were on display against Tottenham on Monday evening, with a number of exciting young Red Devils picked to feature. One such player was Tahith Chong – and it’s fair to say that he made quite the impact.
He managed to score Man Utd’s only goal of the game, and his performance has not gone unnoticed amongst the Man Utd fans over on Twitter.
Though supporters were disappointed to see their side fall to a 3-1 loss, the performance of Chong has made them forget about the game – having been the standout figure for the club on the night.
With fans demanding that he gets a chance in the first team, it’s fair to say that expectations are very high.

More on Chong – he’s a very direct player and works hard without the ball, something that Mourinho is a known admirer of. If he continues in this manner I am sure he’ll be the next academy star knocking on the first team door.
