Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern believe that automatic promotion is still possible, after putting in an incredible performance against Cardiff City last time out.
Steve Bruce’s promotion push took a turn for the better earlier on in the week, as the Villains defeated automatic promotion chasers Cardiff City at Villa Park. Although, it’s still all to play for from here on in until the end of the season, with many of our local residents desperate to see a positive run of results as this will be crucial when it comes to the play-offs.
Indeed, Villa welcome Leeds United to Villa Park later on tonight in their next Championship encounter, with a win possibly putting them back in contention for an automatic promotion place if results go their way. But, Paul Heckingbottom’s side will be desperate to return to winning ways after losing to Preston North End last time out, as a determined Leeds side will be heading to the Midlands.
So without further ado, Bruce needs to trust these TWO Aston Villa youngsters tonight…
James Bree
James Bree has spent most of the season out of the first-team squad since making the move from Barnsley back in January of 2017, but his patience has finally paid off as he’s enjoyed a couple of appearances recently.
Interestingly, James Bree was given the nod in the 26th minute against Cardiff City last time out and could see a lot more minutes in the side from here on in, as Axel Tuanzebe is currently suffering from injury.
Nevertheless, Bruce should look to start Bree later on tonight against Leeds United, as he impressed on Tuesday night, so deserves a chance to showcase his talents once again.
Keinan Davis
Indeed, Keinan Davis has enjoyed his breakthrough season in the current campaign as he’s contributed a handful of goals, but Bruce seems to have turned his back on the Englishman over the past month.
The 20-year-old has made a name for himself as one of England’s brightest products and could even move to the Premier League in the summer, after failing to make the first-team squad in their last four Championship fixtures.
Therefore, Bruce should look to involve Davis in his squad to face Leeds United tonight, as he deserves a chance to contribute from here on in after helping them progress throughout the current campaign.
