Swansea City: Fans take to Twitter to celebrate topping Championship after Charlton victory

Swansea’s 2-1 away victory over Charlton Athletic took them to the top of the Championship last night, pleasing an awful lot of fans on Twitter.

Indeed, a winner from Andre Ayew made sure they went one point ahead of Leeds United, having both played 10 games and dipping in form recently.

The Swans were without a win in three league matches before Wednesday night and it was a crucial game to ensure their early-season momentum hadn’t completely fallen away. Two draws against Reading and Bristol City either side of a Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Watford may have had fans fearing the worst but Steve Cooper’s side seem to be getting back on track.

Fans lapped up the all-important victory and took to Twitter to celebrate taking over Leeds in what promises to be a very intriguing race for top spot. The club’s Twitter account posted the full-time score including the caption “top of the league!!”, prompting fans to pile into the replies.
