West Ham United fans here in the Tavern are praying for a successful campaign next time round. Indeed, the Hammers failed to ensure consistency in front of goal at times as they flirted with the possibility of relegation far too often.
The Hammers will want to forget about last seasons disasters as they’ll have their sights set firmly on a European spot in the next campaign.
However, there’re still major improvements that need to be made if they want to enjoy a successful campaign, as many of our local residents can’t handle another season full of heartbreak.
Manuel Pellegrini has made moves on the transfer front, but with business still yet to be completed and the start of the new campaign edging closer, they run the risk of failure once again.
With that in mind, here’s TWO things that could cause for a disastrous season…
West Ham United have already secured a number of signings this summer and a number of deals remain in the pipeline, in what has been a rather busy transfer window for the Hammers.
However, bringing in a number of players didn’t necessarily work out for them in the last campaign as the likes of Joe Hart and Javier Hernandez had a negative effect on their season. Indeed, the Englishman struggled to secure a clean sheet and made a number of mistakes, while Hernandez just couldn’t find the back of the net.
Therefore, the Hammers run the risk of welcoming even more transfer window failures to the club as they continue to bring in players, with a couple of poor performances in pre-season possibly causing for concern.
Javier Hernandez had a season to forget last time out as he just couldn’t find the back of the net on a regular basis, which has forced his West Ham United career down a blind alley.
So, it’s important that Manuel Pellegrini can bring in a prolific striker before the season starts in a few weeks’ time, as failing to do so could drive the Hammers towards the relegation zone once again.
Many of our local residents would even go as far as saying that securing a striker would be the best piece of business that the London club will complete all summer.
