It’s been a poor season for Norwich City down in the Championship and Canaries fans here in the Tavern have been frustrated with what they’ve seen at times this season!
City, now managed by Alan Irvine, won’t be reaching the play-offs this season after some inconsistent form after Christmas which has led them sliding down the table. The Canaries will be harbouring play-off aspirations for next season that’s for sure but for now, they’ll be building for another season in the second-tier.
And one player their supporters here in the Tavern thinks would be a cracking addition to the squad is Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah. The Dutch youngster, rated at £850,000 by Transfermarkt, has had limited playtime in the United first-team squad this season, having broken into the team under Louis van Gaal last time out.
But he’s found first-team football hard to come by this season, despite some very promising performances last time out. He’s a defensive midfielder that can also play in the back-four and he impressed the Red Devils fans lining the bar here in the pub last season with some strong showings, despite his young years.
Now he needs to be playing first-team football if he’s to really break into the United first-team over the next couple of years and a loan switch to the Championship with a strong Norwich City squad would be a cracking move for both parties.
Norwich will be in and around the play-offs next season that’s for sure but could we see talented midfielder Fosu-Mensah joining them?
