Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is famed for using a 3-5-2 formation.
The Italian used it to devastating effect when helping Juventus secure 3 back-to-back Serie A titles, and has helped current side Italy reach the knock-out rounds of the European Championships deploying the same formation.
While it may have been effective in Italy and Europe thus far, it is not a tactic customarily used in the Premier League.
During his tenure at Bari, Conte used the 4-2-4 to great effect and helped his side finish runaway winners of Serie B back in 2009. The Italian also used the formation successfully in the following years whilst manager of Siena.
It would certainly be a huge shake-up for Chelsea and moreover the Premier League to see such an attacking outfit, but could offer the Blue’s the unpredictability and cutting edge they lacked in the final third so much last campaign.

LW – Eden Hazard
After a disappointing to say the least season at Stamford Bridge, Eden Hazard looks to have finally re-found the form which had him dubbed as the world’s third best player by many, and PFA Player of the Year 2015.
When he is at it, Hazard is almost unstoppable. Tight ball control, skill, pace and a great finish: the Belgian has it all.
ST – Alvaro Morata
Despite Real Madrid having just re-signed their former striker form Juventus, it is likely Los Blancos will sell on the young Spain international and cash in on the profit.
Morata showed glimpses of his ability in the Champions League 2 seasons ago, but really announced himself this past campaign with 17 goals and 9 assists helping guide Juventus to yet another Serie A title.
Now joint top scorer at Euro 2016 with 3 goals already, Morata is hot property.
ST – Diego Costa
A fan favourite at the Bridge, Costa would thrive if given the chance to link up with his Spain counterpart Morata.
While he has been excellent for Chelsea in his first two seasons with the club, at times he has looked isolated – especially last season – so providing the much needed support would allow him to really find his best form.
Aggressive, passionate and with the ability to match, Costa is one of a kind and Chelsea should do all they can to hold on to him.
RW – Antonio Candreva
Currently playing under Antonio Conte in Italy’s Euro 2016 squad, Candreva has so far had an excellent tournament for the Azzuri, offering brilliant running and delivery from wide positions whilst on the counter.
Chelsea are now allegedly rivalling Inter Milan for the Lazio star’s signature, but hope that the presence of Conte in Southwest London can lure him their way.
Candreva would fit straight into Chelsea and Conte’s method, and can add goals from out wide – scoring at least 10 in each of the past 3 seasons.
