The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been looking into Mike Ashley’s transfer dealings and wondering why the club is run the way that it is. Second rate players are bought cheap whilst the clubs departing players are often priced out of moves or sold at ridiculous prices.

Newcastle United is not the club you want to support when it comes to the transfer windows. The Magpies have been locked in Mike Ashley’s stranglehold for over ten years now and with the Sports Direct owner being more interested in money than football, the fans will never be happy as they all want to see the sport being put ahead of the money. So far this summer, two players have come in, one on the cheap and one for free.
The Geordies have been linked with a lot of players this summer although the fans have been chuckling away and ruling out any of those signings that would cost more than £15 million. None of the supporters believe that the club will break their record transfer fee to bring anyone in to St James’ Park as the club continue to look at cheap unheard of players rather than you more pedigree names that would cost a little bit more.
