The Icelandic international has made a slow start to life in the Championship after joining in January of last year, as he’s lost his way under Steve Bruce as a last resort in the Aston Villa side.
Indeed, the 29-year-old has been largely used as a squad rotation player after failing to assert his authority on proceedings, but was given a starting place in their last outing against Bolton Wanderers.
However, after giving the ball away on numerous occasions at the Macron Stadium, there’s still a lot of improvements to be made by the midfielder before he can even dream of having a future at Villa Park.
Henri Lansbury
Henri Lansbury has lost his way at Aston Villa so far this season as he continues to stagnate behind the scenes, with the immovable Jack Grealish keeping him out of the side.
Indeed, the Englishman was one of the hottest topics in Championship football during his time at Nottingham Forest, but hasn’t been given many opportunities since making the move to Villa Park.
Therefore, Lansbury will need to produce something special from here on in, as a summer transfer window exit is looking likely.
