Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can secure a promotion place as they continue to grind out positive results.
The Villains have been dominant in recent games as they are still in with a chance of automatic promotion, but it would take something special for Fulham and Cardiff City to slip-up from here on in. Indeed, Villa managed to score four goals against a helpless Ipswich Town last time out in the Championship, as Steve Bruce’s side are beginning to build up ahead of steam.
However, Aston Villa will welcome play-off contenders Derby County to Villa Park in their next Championship outing, with both sides looking to build some momentum as the season comes to a close. Of course, Steve Bruce’s side should be able to secure all three points if Derby bring their struggles to Villa Park, as Lewis Grabban has looked deadly in front of goal recently.

Henri Lansbury
Henri Lansbury has become heavily out of favour in the current campaign but did manage to get himself on the score sheet against Ipswich Town last time out in the Championship.
Sadly, the Englishman has struggled to break into the starting lineup as a summer transfer window exit is looking likely, but if he can manage to score a few more goals in their promotion push then he may be able to turn a few heads.
Therefore, Lansbury will need to be at his best against Derby County, as a couple of high-quality performances could put him back into Steve Bruce’s plans for the rest of the season.
Scott Hogan
The Republic of Ireland international has struggled for minutes in the side since Lewis Grabban signed on loan in January, as he’s often used as an impact substitute off the bench.
Interestingly, Scott Hogan is the club’s highest-scoring striker with nine goals to his name in the current campaign, but even his future is not confirmed with Premier League football potentially in the offing.
So, the striker has it all to prove against Derby County next time out in the Championship, as he could be forced to move away from Villa Park in the summer if he fails to make any more contributions.
