These 2 Spurs players should plead Pochettino for a loan move away in January

The transfer window will soon be upon us and here in the Transfer Tavern we’re gearing up for another exciting month of deals and rumours.

After the summer market we can scarcely entertain the idea that this window could eclipse it but we’re surely hoping for something of similar magnitude.

One club we expect to be busy is Tottenham who have certainly felt the strain of extra games this season so far.

Their elimination in the Champions League partly came down to their squad not being deep enough and you have to say it also lacked experience of playing at that level.

That’s something Mauricio Pochettino needs to address whilst our landlord reckons he also needs to consider giving his young players the chance of earning experience outside of the club.

The transfer window works both ways, of course, and the main man here behind the bar reckons these two players need to ask to leave on loan in order to develop…

The defender is a very powerful looking player already but he’s not getting into the Spurs side at the moment and needs to be playing.

Despite the likes of Toby Alderweireld getting injured, Kevin Wimmer and Eric Dier have been selected ahead of him this season so he should consider a temporary move to show he belongs higher up the pecking order. He has the ability to be top drawer but like all players needs to be getting minutes.

Harry Winks

The same can be said for Harry Winks.

Whilst the young midfielder has enjoyed some game-time recently thanks to a number of injuries to Spurs players in the central areas but he was soon dropped back down the list for selection. He showed against West Ham he can be a Premier League standard player, though, and should ask for a loan move away to continue learning his trade in the top flight.
