The Gunners fans here in the Transfer Tavern are starting to get hopeful once again this season after a worrying start.

Convincing wins against Watford and Hull were punctuated by a ‘fall over the line’ victory against Southampton to see them bounce back from their sluggish start, and the locals here are expecting a title challenge once again this season.

They’ll be hoping the new signings get them there after the last few years have seen them crumble at the business end of the season, whilst Arsene Wenger also got rid of some of the players not good enough to help them challenge.

This pruning looks to have done the trick so far but arguably, he could have done a fair bit more.
