During his tenure in charge of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger has gained a bit of a reputation for only looking towards his native French league for new recruits.
Our resident Gooners here in the Transfer Tavern feel a revamp is needed this summer if they’re to push for the Premier League title.
It is easy to see why; French players formed the core of his ‘Invincible’ era squad and these players have gone on to shape the mould of the club today.
Recently, Wenger has been more open to looking in other leagues for his players, perhaps most notably with some major aqcuisitions from La Liga over the past few years.
This summer however it would seem he is looking elsewhere, with the French manager seemingly keen on a number of players that ply their trade in the German Bundesliga.
Here are THREE Bundesliga players that must be signed by Arsenal this summer…….

Nevan Subotic

Whilst Subotic hasn’t been rumoured with an Arsenal switch up to this point; recent events mean that he could be the perfect man to reorganise Arsenal’s defence.
Subotic recently announced that he is looking to leave Dortmund this summer, seeking pastures new at a new club abroad.
With Arsenal reportedly in the market for a new central defender, Subotic could be a perfect fit.
With Champions league experience and time at the top of the Bundesliga behind him; he has more than enough experience and quality to make the switch.
His intent to leave could also play a role in his asking price, meaning that Wenger could pick up the quality defender for a small fee. Keep your eyes peeled on this one.
Julian Draxler

Another player that Arsenal have not been explicitly linked to, but should go after this summer, is Julian Draxler.
Arsenal fans might remember him from the interest that the club had prior to his move to Wolfsburg; and since then he has only gotten better.
He has proven his quality at this summer’s European Championships, with a number of European clubs now reportedly interested in his services.
With rumours persisting over the future of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, Julian Draxler would offer a perfect alternative for the club if one of their star names were to depart this summer.
Even if they were to stay, an attacking trio of Sanchez, Ozil and Draxler would be near unstoppable next season.
Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang

One player that Arsenal are definitely need to be interested in is Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang.
Odds on the striker joining the club have recently been slashed, and with rumours surrounding the striker’s future a near constant in the tavern at the moment; it would not be a surprise to see the striker come to the Emirates.
Aubamayang offers electric pace and technical ability; a pairing that Arsenal have lacked recently, with Giroud offering much more as a target man rather than a technical forward.
In Aubamyang Arsenal would get guaranteed goals, and also take the weight off of Giroud who has been relied on so heavily over the past few years.
Keep an eye on this one; it could definitely happen.
