These 3 Chelsea player transfer valuations may surprise you

Chelsea is home to some of Europe’s brightest talents – and the Blues fans in the Tavern love watching them every week…

From Eden Hazard to Thibaut Courtois, the Chelsea first team is littered with top quality talent – and their individual values are often higher than the entire squads of sides lower in the league.

That being said, Chelsea have also become much more shrewd in the transfer market in recent years, and have plucked up some great bargains – making a change from the overspending days of the 2000s.

In fact, some of the Chelsea players have quality far beyond their market price – and whilst transfermarkt.com is usually on the money with player market value; some of these Chelsea stars are worth so much more.

With that said, these THREE Chelsea transfer valuations may surprise you…

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – £4.25m

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been a part of the Chelsea first team for the last 18 months, which makes it all the more surprising that his market value sits at just £4.25 million, according to Transfermarkt.com.

Granted, the young Englishman has yet to gain a foothold in the Chelsea first team; but as one of the bright lights of the ever-successful Chelsea academy – his price should no doubt be significantly higher.

When given the opportunity, Loftus-Cheek has looked impressive; and at just 20 years old – he has his entire career ahead of him.

The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are shocked at this!

Marcos Alonso – £7.65m

This is another incredibly surprising one, with Marcos Alonso rated at just £7.65 million by Transfermarkt.com. What makes this shocking on an immediate level is the fact that Chelsea paid £23 million for his services!

Granted, the Blues probably did overpay somewhat – but did they really pay 3x too much for the talented Spaniard?

Alonso has looked good when given a chance so far this season, and with time he will only get better. At just 25 years old, it isn’t like he is nearing the end of his career – so this really doesn’t make much sense.

Our landlord definitely doesn’t think this is right…

Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas

Whilst Alonso and Loftus-Cheek’s are at one end of the spectrum, Cesc Fabregas is at the complete opposite end – and his value is even more surprising.

As per Transfermarkt.com, Fabregas’ market value is a whopping £38.25 million – making him the second most valuable player in the Chelsea first team!

This is despite the fact that he is already 29 years old, and the fact that he has been out of Chelsea’s first team all season.

What’s more, he is also rated more highly than players like Courtois and Diego Costa – both of whom have been in fine form!

Shocking! Our landlord is sure Antonio Conte would love to get that sort of money for him…
