Jose Mourinho is seemingly doing all he can to sign up some of the world’s best talent this summer…And the Man Utd faithful here in the Football Transfer Tavern are loving every bit of it.

Top stars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic have already been signed, whilst huge names like Paul Pogba are consistently being linked.

Whilst new signings will no doubt excite fans; the harsh reality is that as a result – some players will be forced to leave the club.

In fact, our landlord reckons United might see more than a few departures over the coming weeks.

With that, here are THREE Man Utd players that seriously need to leave and find a new club……

 

Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay was brought to Manchester United with all the hype in the world; but a mere 12 months later and that has all changed.

He had a torrid debut season in England, with the Dutch winger unable to hold down a spot in the United first team, instead having to settle fit limited sub appearances.

Things do not look set to improve for Depay, with the manager that brought him in, Van Gaal, now departed and Jose Mourinho no doubt keen to ship out any out-of-form talent.

A new club could find him a new lease on life, and there will be no shortage of takers for the once Dutch Golden Boot winner.

Phil Jones

When Phil Jones signed for United from Blackburn; he was expected to become a future Man Utd captain.

Sir Alex Ferguson once described him as having the potential to become “one of United’s best ever” – something that many rival fans in the Tavern have not forgotten.

Since that point he has regressed significantly; and now looks very out of place in an ever improving Manchester United side.

A move away might allow him to restart his career and get to the heights that were hoped for him all those years ago. Until that point – he looks set to get worse and worse in a Red shirt.

Juan Mata

Juan Mata’s career has been very unfair on him.

He was unstoppable at Chelsea; but then Jose Mourinho came in and ruthlessly sold him because he didn’t fit the style of play that Mourinho wanted. And now he looks set to do the same thing again at United.

Mata deserves to be valued at his club, and he is good enough to be a starter at any side in world football. He should look for a move away where he will be valued by fans and staff alike.
