It is an exciting time for West Ham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

A new ground is on the horizon, and after a successful season last year Slaven Bilic is no doubt looking at improving his squad going into the 2016/17 season.

Whilst some new signings seem inevitable, it also seems likely that Bilic will look to rid the club of some of the dead weight that has piled up within the club.

West Ham have a pretty sizeable squad, and could definitely do with trimming it down as they look to become regular challengers for the top 6 in the Premier League

With that, here are THREE West Ham players that are definitely fighting for their futures at the club…..

Enner Valencia

Enner Valencia was bought for £12 million in 2014, but over the last year or so has not shown his value.

Last season in particular was a really disappointing campaign for the forward, often inconsistent and failing to really cement his place in the West Ham first team.

An overall record of 8 league goals in 51 games is simply not good enough, so it is no surprise that West Ham are unhappy with his performances.

A number of clubs are circling and seem set to make a move for the forward,  with a deal seemingly imminent.

A European move might seem like the ideal destination for Valencia, but don’t be surprised if he makes a move to China, with West Ham hoping to recoup their £12 million transfer fee.

 

Pedro Obiang

Pedro Obiang was Slavan Bilic’s first signing in charge of the club, but despite signing a four year deal, his West Ham career could be over before it has really got started.

He was signed with a lot of expectation, but has largely failed to live up to the standards that were expected of him.

He is reportedly frustrated at a lack of first team opportunities, with his agent touting the player for a move in January, and although that did not come to fruition; it could definitely happen this summer.

It is disappointing news for West Ham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern, as some fans feel that he has the quality to make it with The Hammers.

However, with no regular first team football on the horizon, Obiang’s frustrations will only grow; so it might be time for him to make the move out of London.

Doniel Henry

When Doniel Hendry was signed in January 2015, West Ham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern spent the next few days googling his name trying to find out who he was!

Now, 18 months later, it seems that we are no closer to finding out the answer to that question.

Henry has failed to make any sort of impact at West Ham, and after two failed Blackburn Rovers loans, it could be the end of Hendry’s West Ham career.

He is behind a whole host of players in the West Ham pecking order, and with talented youngsters looking to break into the first team, he will find it difficult to get any game time next year.

This summer could be the last opportunity for Henry to prove himself, and even with that it might be too late.
