The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting very excited about the rumours of who could be their latest new striker.
Reports are circulating that Gonzalo Higuain could be on his way to the Emirates this Summer to head the Gunners attack into next season.
The Argentine forward was in mercurial form last season for Napoli in Serie A with 36 goals in 35 league games.
A strike rate like this is more than impressive and Gunners fans will be hoping that should any deal go ahead he’ll be the striker they’ve needed for so long to fire them to the title.
Arsene Wenger, in light of this potential deal, may have identified that the striking positions are where his team need strengthening to improve on last season’s second place but our landlord doesn’t think the spending should end there.
Arsenal could do with some extra players to finally win the league and here are FIVE that could follow Higuain to the Emirates…
Marek Hamsik

Marek Hamsik was Slovakia’s star man at the European Championships – as many thought he would be.
The attacking midfielder is a consistently good performer, often being Napoli’s main source of goals from midfield and Wenger might fancy reuniting him with the 28-year old in North London.
The Gunners have a good amount of attacking midfielders but Hamsik would certainly be in contention to start.
Julian Draxler

Reports are doing the rounds that the Gunners could be interested in German international Julian Draxler.
The 22-year old has had a lot of expectation around him since he broke on to the scene a few years ago and whilst he hasn’t quite hit the highest heights, he did show signs of how good he can be for Germany at EURO 2016.
Wenger might feel he can get the best out him with the opportunity of him linking up with compatriot Mesut Ozil.
Jeison Murillo

The Inter Milan defender is being linked to the club and could be the man to replace the declining Per Mertesacker.
The Colombian is strong and quick at the back which would make him well suited to the Premier League and he is also coming into his prime as a defender meaning he could forge a partnership with Laurent Koscielny for seasons to come.
Mauro Icardi

Another Inter Milan man who is rumoured to be available for a move this transfer window. Icardi is still a young forward so would easily be in the Gunners side for years to come and the opportunity to join his compatriot Higuain at the club could be too good to turn down.
The Argentine is a more mobile forward and would hassle Premier League defences allowing Higuain the space to score goals, potentially creating a formidable partnership with his countryman.
Alexandre Lacazette

Lacazette would do a similar job to the aforementioned Icardi, drifting into the channels to create space, though would arguably represent a more palpable goal-scoring threat.
The Frenchman can play down the sides off of a main striker, creating space for the more intricate technicians at the Emirates Stadium to wreak havoc, though can also revert to a more central berth.
The Lyon man has been one of the top players in Ligue 1 but with PSG’s endless domination he might think it’s time to try a new challenge.
