Tottenham Hotspur are facing the prospect of losing Mousa Dembele when his contract expires at the end of the season and, with that in mind, the club will presumably be turning their attention towards a a handful of replacements.
The likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Frenkie de Jong have been discussed with particular enthusiasm among the Spurs faithful, but they are likely to face strong competition from a multitude of high-profile clubs for their respective signatures.
Whoever Tottenham decide to sign will presumably command a hefty price-tag, especially if they target a player with plenty of scope for development.
And with Pochettino’s preference for nurturing young players to consider, it seems more than likely that he will replace experience with youthful exuberance when sanctioning a deal for Dembele’s replacement.
According to a recent report from RAI Sports (via respected Tottenham journalist Ricky Sacks), Tottenham have tabled a bid for Napoli’s Amadou Diawara, and Napoli’s president is demanding 50 million euros (£44 million) for his signature.

In response to reports, a handful of Tottenham supporters have urged Daniel Levy to sanction a deal for the highly-rated 21-year-old.
With just four Serie A starts to his name under Carlo Ancelotti this season, Diawara is likely to be disappointed with his standing at the club, and that might just swing his decision in Tottenham’s favour if they eventually have a bid accepted.
Either way, it’s fair to say that plenty of supporters are excited by the recent transfer report, despite the huge asking price which Aurelio De Laurentiis is demanding for Diawara’s services.
