Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can cement their place in the top-four, after a minor slip-up saw competitors gain some ground.
Antonio Conte’s side have had a season that many fans would like to forget, as they still learn to regret the sale of former star Diego Costa, the player whose goals single-handedly brought the title to Stamford Bridge last campaign.
Indeed, after bringing in the likes of Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi things just haven’t been the same for the Blues, as they continue on in search of a prolific striker good enough to lead their line.
Well, there’s certainly been some rumours surrounding Chelsea and a striker after Andy Carroll was heavily linked with a loan switch, and as if things couldn’t get even more out of the ordinary, they just did. Chelsea have reportedly turned their attention to acquiring former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch, a player who’s not shown a goalscoring threat since his days at Anfield, yet somehow has managed to draw the attention of the champions.
So, after Antonio Conte picked his name out of a hat at Stamford Bridge, it looks as if the robot will be coming back into fashion with his four goals this season doing enough for the Blues’ attention.

The Bosnian has enjoyed one of the best goalscoring seasons in his career, as he continues to establish himself as one of the form strikers in world football.
Indeed, after netting twice at Stamford Bridge in a 3-3 drawback in October, Chelsea fans and staff loved what they saw from the 31-year-old as they now look to him as the player to fill the Costa void.
After being linked with a whole host of strikers this window, they now seem to have settled on this one as Chelsea look to be interested in signing the Bosnian.

The Atletico Madrid winger has become one of the trickiest customers in world football, as well as establishing himself as one of Belgium’s brightest talents.
Indeed, the 24-year-old has already had a career that many would dream of after scoring in the Champions League final, and being at the forefront of Belgian attacks in major tournaments.
After seeing the brilliance of Chelsea star Eden Hazard already at the club, the addition of a fellow countryman with similar traits could work wonders for the Blues.
Especially after links towards the end of December made this all a reality, as Atletico Madrid put the attacker on the transfer list. However, Chelsea are yet to make anything of their interest thus far.
