Everton: Fans slam Carlo Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti was far from happy with his Everton side’s display against Newcastle United on Sunday.

The Toffees started the campaign fantastically, moving to the top of the table after winning four and drawing one of their first five matches. However, they were defeated 2-0 against Southampton, and they were then on the end of a 2-1 scoreline up in Newcastle.

After the match, Ancelotti was clearly disappointed. He did admit that the absence of the likes of Richarlison and James Rodriguez did not help them from an attacking point of view, but he still expected more from his side.

His words, though, did not go down well at all amongst the Toffees supporters – they were not happy that he made excuses about the players who weren’t available, and they appeared to be worried that this is the kind of thing former manager Marco Silva would say. They took to Twitter to share their frustration.

Back to the Silva era today, beating ourselves with dumb mistakes.
