Newcastle United: Saudi Arabian consortium interest in West Ham United has supporters conceding takeover defeat

According to a report from Football Insider, the Saudi Arabian consortium led by Prince Mohammed bin Salman that has apparently been in negotiations to buy Newcastle United could switch their attention down South to West Ham – with these Magpies supporters conceding defeat following the update.

Prince Salman, who is backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund along with PCP Capital Partners’ Amanda Staveley, is meant to be locked in negotiations with controversial Newcastle owner Mike Ashley amid a report from the Guardian that a deal was ‘90%‘ concluded.

However, following a week of little to no updates, bar the fact Ashley is demanding a £250,000 non-refundable bond as well as the £340 million asking price (Daily Mirror), Football Insider can reveal that the consortium may switch their attention to West Ham in a stunning u-turn. The Hammers, currently co-owned by David Sullivan and David Gold, could be an attractive prospect to investors with their brand new stadium and loyal fan base.

As a result, Magpies supporters have just about had enough, taking to Twitter and voicing their frustration – find all of their most relevant comments down below.
