Torres: Killing Morale At The Bridge According To Gullit

‘Blast from the past’ Ruud Gullit has made his thoughts about Fernando Torres known.

Torres doesn’t half know how to keep himself the topic of our conversations.. Although admittedly for all the wrong reasons.

The former Blues manager Ruud Gullit has been talking to Andre Villa-Boas about his dainty Spanish forward, Fernando Torres. The Daily Star reveals that Gullit ‘urged’ the current Chelsea boss to ‘axe Torres’ upon the return next week of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou from the African Nations Cup.

When purchased for a record breaking £50million from Liverpool, the hopes of both Abramovich and Villa-Boas was that Torres would increase the influx of goals bagged already by Drogba and Anelka. Unfortunately for any Chelsea fan however, what followed was disappointment after disappointment whenever the ‘El Nino’ played.

The angst was visible from Boas on the sidelines, and I’m sure Abramovich was livid, admittedly most probably getting pampered on his enormous yacht..

Gullit makes the point,

“It’s a difficult situation also for the rest of the players because I think that they all like Torres, they all want him to score”

“But if he doesn’t, what does it do to the result? What does it do to the morale of the rest of the players?”

This thought must be on the mind of all Chelsea fans, but the thought that is on everyone’s mind, is maybe a move from the club and to Europe would end Torres’ nightmare at English football.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
