Tottenham Hotspur was founded exactly 136 years ago today and the proud supporters have been coming together to celebrate the birthday of one of England’s biggest clubs. What started out as a cricket club has now become a hugely successful football club and the fans are proud to be Lilywhites.

Some fans would argue that the current crop of players, being lead by Mauricio Pochettino, are the best that the club has ever had. In their history, Spurs have won two top-flight division titles, including the first ever English league and cup double when they secured the 1961 First Division title and FA Cup. The achievements of the club are not to be belittled and the fans are keen to see their current squad make some more history.
The game has changed so much since they were founded. Back in 1901 Tottenham Hotspur became the first, and so far only, non-league team to win the FA Cup. To put that into perspective, everyone lost their minds when Conference side Lincoln City made it to the quarter-finals back in 2017. Tottenham are a truly remarkable club and they’ll be keen to get back to winning ways and secure some silverware between now and their 137th birthday.
