Squad numbers often cause a big stir from any clubs’ fans. That is no different today as Harry Winks now wears the number eight shirt at Tottenham and whilst it’s a dream come true for the young midfielder, the fans are also buzzing with the news he’ll be wearing the shirt.

Club legends like Steve Perryman, Paul Gascoigne and Jimmy Greaves have worn the number eight shirt at Tottenham and it will take a lot of stellar performances for Winks to live up to those names. However, if the youngster can keep doing what he’s doing with his classy displays from midfield then he could easily build his reputation up over time to become a club legend.
Most Spurs fans already love the 22-year-old and it’s hard to see that changing unless he leaves anytime soon. The Hemel Hempstead born Tottenham fan has been at the club his entire career since he was a child and he’s finally been able to wear his favoured number eight. The fans will be looking forward to seeing how he rewards them with his performances on the pitch, considering last season he went to the Bernabeu and bossed Los Blancos, leading the Lillywhites to wonder what else he can do.
