Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama has had a tough time with injuries over the last year.
After being out for four months in the early stages of last season, he managed to stay fit for the remainder of the campaign, but finished the season with just 18 Premier League appearances to his name, of which only eight were starts to underline his lowly position in the pecking order.
He then began this campaign with a knee issue before returning back in September, only for Wanyama to muster a mere three starts in all competitions before sustaining another injury to his knee against West Ham in their 1-0 Carabao Cup success on Wednesday night.
As such, the 27-year-old is unavailable for Tottenham’s game away at Wolves tomorrow, as confirmed by manager Mauricio Pochettino in his pre-match press conference earlier today.

Unsurprisingly, this recent injury update has provoked quite a response from Spurs supporters on Twitter, with many fans of the opinion that Wanyama should move on following his unfortunate luck with injuries…

Play just one match but injury again, are you gonna be kidding me

On the other hand, some were a lot more sympathetic to the midfielder’s recurrent injury problems, and feel that the lack of backing for Wanyama was unfair, and as such wished him well in his recovery…

Nothing like the support of ‘fans’ when a player is injured… “Get rid” … charming buggers. Get back soon Victor!
