Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho remains confident that Luis Campos will join him at the north London club, according to a report from The Guardian.
Campos is currently the sporting director at Ligue 1 club Lille and has previously worked at Monaco, whilst he also used to be a scout at Real Madrid during Mourinho’s tenure at the Santiago Bernabeu (Transfermarkt).
During his time at the two French clubs, he has been responsible for identifying some top talents including Nicolas Pepe, Bernardo Silva and Fabinho.
He is highly sought after, as according to the report, he is also wanted by Spurs’ Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea, however, it is thought that he will not assess his options until the end of the current campaign.
Mourinho has already taken two members of staff from Lille, with assistant Joao Sacramento and goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos both joining the Portuguese at Tottenham upon his arrival.
If he does manage to convince Campos to become the third man to make the move, then it seems as though it would be a popular appointment amongst the club’s fanbase.
Indeed, many supporters took to Twitter after seeing the news that Mourinho is hopeful of hiring his former colleague to express their happiness at the potential appointment.

This is what I’m talking about – good clubs replace players before they sell them and settle players in before they are relied upon if possible. Poorly run clubs wait a season. If Spurs hire Campos watch what happens. The replacements will already be there most of the time.
