Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are fuming at Daniel Levy AGAIN, this time because he stated that he will not be selling the club.
This comes after an article from Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold was shared on his official Twitter page, which relayed Levy’s comments stating that the English National Investment Company (ENIC) co-owned by him has ‘no intention of selling Tottenham’ (full article here).
ENIC and Levy (as well as co-owner Joe Lewis) were originally sold their stake at the club by businessman Sir Lord Alan Sugar back in 2000 for a reported £21.7 million (article via The Telegraph). Little did the star of The Apprentice perhaps know back then how much his boyhood club would grow. Since then they lost out on the Premier League title to Leicester City and have qualified for the Champions League on a few occasions, even reaching the final last season before losing out to Liverpool.
The north London side are due to release a full financial update for this month including new figures for stadium attendances and ticket prices. One fan has pleaded to ‘start boycotting matches’ after hearing this news on Gold’s Twitter post and he was right to suggest that it ‘might not go down well with some Spurs fans’. These Spurs fans in particular are fuming at Levy for not selling up the club, with one fan claiming that Levy prioritises ‘money over glory’:

Time to start letting them know we want them out.

Fans need to start boycotting matches, they will soon sell up when they realise they can’t fleece the fans for money

I lost interest when we all got cast aside for foreign media the first time we got into the champions league. It was clear then that to Levy, we are clients, not fans.

That stadium is gonna look ridiculous with 35/40k in it. It’ll happen soon….

New stadium is arguably the worst thing to happen to us..
More revenue streams for Levy, making the football fan less powerful.
ENIC will make money regardless. We don’t get top 4, no money for players. Levy knows the stadium will still be full of tourists
Money over Glory

The timing of Darth Levys comments is interesting, he has been getting a lot of stick on SC lately & this is his answer 2 the rebel fans, he obviously thinks that the fans will not demonstrate & that his authoritarian stance will shut us up. He wasn’t persuaded to leave by the ENIC Out banner then!

So basically I’ll never see our club win a premier league in my lifetime then. Why are we all so accepting of this??? You all who pay so much through the gate deserve hope of winning something
