Real Betis chief executive Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan has made public the details of Giovani Lo Celso’s loan deal at Tottenham Hotspur.
Catalan has revealed that the London club have the option of buying Lo Celso in the January transfer window and if they wish to do so it will cost them €32m, which works out at just over £27.3m in English currency (via ABC Sevilla).
He also said that Spurs will have to sign the Argentine on a permanent basis in the summer if they finish in the top four due to a clause in the contract, with the report – via Sport Witness – claiming that Tottenham would have to pay €40m (£34.1m) in this eventuality, meaning an early swoop would save about £6.8m.
The 23-year-old has struggled for game time since arriving at Tottenham and has started just one Premier League game so far this season (Transfrmarkt).
He was also signed by previous manager Mauricio Pochettino and it is unknown whether he has a future under new boss Jose Mourinho.

For me it’s a sign in Jan, if/when eriksen goes he’s a perfect replacement so can use funds in other positions.
