Former Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale believes that Jose Mourinho is an excellent appointment for the north London club.
The Welshman, who now plays for Real Madrid, has been discussing the change in management at Spurs recently and told BT Sport that getting the Portuguese in is an “amazing statement” by the club.

“Having [Jose] Mourinho there is an amazing statement from the club, I think he’s a serial winner,” he said.
“Tottenham want to win trophies and I don’t think there’s a better partnership than Mourinho and Tottenham together to try and win some trophies.”
Bale played for Tottenham between 2007-13 and made 203 appearances for them, scoring 56 goals and providing 58 assists (Transfermarkt).
He went on to move to Real Madrid, but things are far from rosy at the moment for Bale in the Spanish capital and he was even booed by his own supporters recently (The Sun).
He was linked with a move to China in the summer (BBC Sport) but it never happened. However, it seems that several Spurs fans would like him to return to the club.
He is still held in extremely high regard by the majority of the Tottenham faithful and, following his comments about Mourinho’s appointment, many fans want the Wales international to rejoin them and help the club get their hands on some silverware…
