BBC pundit and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker has claimed that the latest transfer rumour regarding Harry Kane is ‘guesswork’.
Kane has been linked with a move to Juventus following reports from Tuttosport via The Daily Express. According to the article, Kane is the Italian club’s top target and they are willing to pay 200 million euros to secure his services.
The papers say loads of things about transfers. They haven’t got a clue. It’s all guesswork. Throw enough darts…… https://t.co/wjrWduf6UZ

But Lineker claims that papers that report these transfer rumours do not have a clue and said that it is ‘all guesswork’. He added a ‘throw enough darts’ comment, meaning that if you go for the same thing a number of times you will eventually find your target, in this case, Kane potentially moving to Juventus.
The 26-year old has scored 17 goals and provided a further two assists for Spurs in 25 games all competitions this season and that is despite an injury that has kept him out of the north London club’s last 15 games (via Transfermarkt), so his importance to the cause is obvious even despite a poor season for the club as a whole. Currently out injured, it remains to be seen what happens to this season, of course.
The speculation could perhaps be seen as strange considering that Juve are reportedly keen to extend Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract until 2024, according to Tuttosport via The Mail Online. So, considering Ronaldo’s obvious importance, the idea of Kane ousting him (despite his wonderful goal-scoring record) does look somewhat far-fetched.
With that in mind, Lineker looks to have hit the nail on the head here.
