Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp has been praised for another solid display as Spurs clinched a 2-0 Premier League derby victory over West Ham.

The Lowdown: Spurs seal win...

Under the guidance of assistant coach Cristian Stellini, with Antonio Conte sidelined due to his recovery from gallbladder surgery, the north Londoners clinched bragging rights over their capital neighbours on Sunday.

Goals from Emerson Royal and substitute Son Heung-min in the second period ensured Conte's side remain in full contention for a place in the top four.

West Ham, meanwhile, are very much in this year's relegation battle as they flirt with a drop down to the Championship.

The Latest: Media hail Skipp...

In reaction to the encounter, members of the press saw fit to praise Spurs youngster Skipp's performance - who once again started due to Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur's respective injuries.

They explained:

"Standing ovation for Oliver Skipp, who has been very good in my mind. Early booking aside, he has barely put a foot wrong and justified his selection." - George Sessions, PA Sport (via Twitter).

"Thought Skipp was quietly excellent today." - Kieron Bryan, Channel 4 News (via Twitter).

"Sarr replaces Skipp, who gets a standing ovation from the crowd. He's been very good today, especially after collecting that early yellow card." - Alasdair Gold, football.london (via Twitter).

The Verdict: Great performance...

As per SofaScore, the Englishman justified his inclusion to no end and could be giving Conte something to seriously think about even once everyone is fit in the middle.

Skipp ranked joint-third for highest match rating overall out of both Spurs and West Ham whilst accumulating some pretty impressive on-field stats.

The 22-year-old was heavily involved, taking 74 touches (the fifth-most of any Tottenham player) whilst making four successful tackles, winning the vast majority of his ground duels and completing 88% of his passes.

He also won 100% of his aerial duels and landed two out of three long balls up the field - further highlighting his imperious and assured display.

Skipp has had to be very patient with Bissouma and Bentancur above him in the pecking order but now appears to be seizing the moment with aplomb.
