Tottenham are 'also interested' in signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak as they map out a succession plan for mainstay Hugo Lloris.

The Lowdown: Lloris on the move?

Spurs have been linked with an array of goalkeeping additions for 2023 with sporting director Fabio Paratici and manager Antonio Conte reportedly weighing up Lloris replacements.

The likes of Jordan Pickford and Illan Meslier have long been linked even before this transfer window and January reports indicate Lloris could even leave at the end of this season.

The France international has been a stellar servant since his move from Lyon over 10 years ago but Paratici and co are apparently looking towards the future.

This has lead to more recent links with Brentford shot-stopper David Raya, but according to The Evening Standard, Oblak is another player on their radar.

The Latest: Spurs 'also interested' in Oblak...

According to the outlet and reliable journalist Nizaar Kinsella, amid their interest in Raya, Atletico star Oblak is indeed a player being eyed by the Lilywhites.

They claim Spurs are 'also interested' in the Slovenia international as they map out a long term succession plan for Lloris.

The Verdict: Right man?

Oblak has been another dependable servant for Atletico, similar to Lloris at Spurs, having made 378 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga side.

The 30-year-old is a trophy-winning veteran who would bring pedigree and experience to Conte's dressing room, if he does indeed decide to remain at N17 beyond his current contract.

Called 'the best goalkeeper in the world' by Koke earlier this year, Oblak's quality can be arguably evident when at his best, but there are a few caveats to this possible move.

The goalkeeper still has five more years remaining on his current deal after penning an extension in the summer of 2022 - something which heavily favours Atletico in talks given they can demand a higher fee.

Oblak is also reportedly on around £255,000-per-week as well and it's very contestable whether Spurs and Levy would be willing to offer that amount for a Lloris successor.
