According to an update courtesy of Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge, Spurs are still looking to land a striker despite recently securing deals for both Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon in a sensational double swoop – with Jose Mourinho remaining keen on bringing in a back-up to Harry Kane.
In terms of names, there have been plenty linked with a north London move, including the likes of Bas Dost, Andrea Belotti, Habib Diallo and Wout Weghorst – with Bridge hinting that any one of these names could still come through the door even after Bale and Reguilon.

Financial difficulties brought up by a recent global pandemic, however, will perhaps force Spurs to offload names to balance the books first – and the Times claim, via Hotspur Related, that Paulo Gazzaniga, Juan Foyth and Danny Rose could all make way.
Meanwhile, Serge Aurier and Ryan Sessegnon are also being mentioned among the list of players who may depart (The Athletic) – with the latter pair having the potential to raise most funds judging by their respective Transfermarkt valuations (Aurier, £14.4m; Sessegnon, £22.5m).
Once certain sales have been concluded and Tottenham are in a better financial situation to swoop for an attacker, Bridge has claimed that one is ‘still on the agenda‘ before the transfer window shuts on October 5.

Reliable football.london correspondent Alasdair Gold recently claimed that Danny Ings is another forward both Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho ‘really like’ – but he could be the most difficult to pull off given he is currently the ‘main man’ at Southampton.
