Tottenham Hotspur remain a Premier League club — but only just.
Spurs secured survival on the final day of the season with a tense 1-0 victory over Everton, a result that ultimately sent West Ham down to the Championship instead. While there were scenes of celebration at full-time, the reality is that Tottenham’s campaign exposed major problems throughout the club.
From poor recruitment to inconsistent performances on the pitch, significant changes are expected this summer if Spurs are to avoid another relegation battle next season.
And now, after preserving their top-flight status, the North London side are reportedly preparing a major move in the transfer market.
Tottenham Plotting Savinho Move
According to the Mail Online, Tottenham are considering a £60 million move for Manchester City winger Savinho this summer.
The Brazil international, previously described as “special” by Pep Guardiola, has endured a frustrating spell at the Etihad following his arrival from Girona, struggling to secure regular minutes in an already stacked attacking squad.
Despite not being included in Brazil’s World Cup squad, Savinho remains highly regarded across Europe due to his pace, technical ability and flair in one-on-one situations. Tottenham are believed to see him as the kind of explosive attacking player capable of transforming their frontline heading into next season.
City are expected to oversee a significant squad overhaul this summer following Guardiola’s departure, and Savinho is among several players whose futures are uncertain as incoming boss Enzo Maresca reshapes the squad.
For Spurs, landing a player of Savinho’s calibre would represent a serious statement after such a disappointing campaign. However, with interest from elsewhere also expected, any potential deal is unlikely to be straightforward.
