According to reports out of Spain, there has been a transfer development involving Tottenham Hotspur and Lille star Jonathan David.

The Lowdown: A man in demand...

One of the most in-form young strikers in Europe, it is no secret that David has been attracting major interest from top European clubs, with big name reporter Fabrizio Romano believing there are as many as ten clubs eyeing a move.

The Italian transfer journalist also says that a 'transfer will surely happen' and the Canada international is definitely set to leave this summer (Twitter).

Tottenham, as reported by reliable sources from across the Atlantic, are in the mix with David even 'open' to joining the club alongside 'every possibility' (Matthew Scianitti, Sports Centre).

Now, in an update, reports from Europe have shared some interesting news on the striker.

The Latest: Levy sets sights...

As per Spanish sources, Lilywhites boss Antonio Conte has 'complained in recent weeks' about Tottenham's business in the January window.

The Italian, making a plea to both managing director Fabio Paratici and chairman Daniel Levy, has told the club chiefs to make 'important signings' this summer to give Spurs a chance to compete.

As a result, Paratici and Levy are eyeing a move for David, who Conte personally believes could fix Tottenham's lack of depth in the forward areas.

The Verdict: Get it done...

Valued at around €60 million (£50m), the 22-year-old could be worth every penny going by his age, sky potential and prolific record in front of goal.

Called 'phenomenal' by Combate Global commentator Maximiliano Bretos for his exploits outside of Europe with Canada, in Ligue 1, David has racked up 13 goals in 28 top flight starts.

At international level, his quality really is highlighted, with the forward scoring a quite simply sensational 20 goals over his 27 caps.

Conte and Levy could certainly do far worse as they eye a striking back-up to Harry Kane.
