After a fairly average season with Birmingham City and a slow start to the season with West Ham in 2013, Morrison was sent on a 93-day loan to QPR on February 19 2014.
Arguably one of the best English talents of his generation, Morrison’s career has been one of a talented player who has struggled deliver on his potential.
Morrison was highly regarded during his time at Man U and on joining West Ham, Sam Allardyce claimed that Morrison had ‘top class ability’.
On loan at Birmingham, the midfielder showed flashes of his ability as he played 27 games while scoring three goals to go with three assists but also went through patches where his discipline seemed to waver.
On joining QPR for the second-half of the 2013/14 season, plenty of fans were highly sceptical about the move and here’s what they said…

Much like most of his career in the half a season before he joined QPR, Morrison at times looked like a supreme talent but also struggled to put that into a long run of consistent form.
He played 16 games in the league, scored three goals while also grabbing two assists for The Hammers and with QPR, he played 15 games in the league while scoring six goals. He was a big part in the club reaching the Championship Play0ff Final although he didn’t play in the game.
Despite having a fairly solid 2013-14 season, Morrison was once again sent on loan the following season. It would be his final loan spell while at West Ham as the talented midfielder signed an agreement with Lazio to join on a free transfer.
He may have a had a solid season with QPR but it seems the fans were right to be sceptical over his arrival. Considering how good Morrison could’ve been, it’s a huge loss to English football that he couldn’t deliver on his huge potential.
