The West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern are in dire need of cheering up of late, such is the poor nature of their dismal start to life in the London Stadium.
Amid problems both on and off the pitch, the Irons propping up the bar have watched their star man Dimitri Payet linked with a move away in January, only rubbing salt into their wounds.
Now, according to the Daily Star, another big midfielder could hand the Hammers a blow.
They claim Cesc Fabregas has his eyes only set on a move to a top European club should he up and leave Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard was linked with a move across the Big Smoke after failing to command regular football under Antonio Conte, though is said to have his glances set higher than Slaven Bilic’s side.
The Blues, meanwhile, are understood to rather him move to the continent anyway, rather than having to play against him should he stay in England.
