Aston Villa will likely feel devastated after a poor mistake cost them a point against Tottenham, with Son Heung-min grabbing a last-gasp winner at Villa Park.
The South Korea international could have put the game to bed moments before when he had an effort saved from a corner, and indeed he and his teammates missed several second-half chances. Dean Smith operated with three centre-backs but it wasn’t enough to prevent the visitors creating numerous chances as they enjoyed ten shots on target throughout.
The fact they were restricted to three goals indicates that Pepe Reina was to thank for his multiple saves, with the Spaniard also keeping out Son’s penalty only for the forward to tuck in the rebound. Reina made several key saves and didn’t deserve to be on the losing side, but Villa fans have at least showed their appreciation for the loanee, with some supporters wanting the 37-year-old to join permanently.

Reina is one of the best keepers in this league and nobody can tell me otherwise

Absolutely sick after that. Back 3 far too casual for me, lots of silly mistakes snd got caught with the very last one. Stop this Drinkwater nonsence too, nowhere near it. Reina was awesome. #avfc

I know a lot of people including me questioned if Pepe Reina was going to be the right man for the rest of the season. Think we can all say he has well and truly answered everything since he has came in. What a keeper he still is! #AVFC

How good was Reina, will he make a big difference in the team’s chances of surviving relegation? Let us know!
