Steve Bruce’s two year stay at Aston Villa came to an end on Wednesday as he was sacked, and an array of managers have now been linked with the vacant job.
Despite taking The Villans to the play off final last season, Bruce’s side could only manage three wins from their opening 11 games this term, including one from their past 9 games. This was obviously too much for the board at the club.
It was announced on Friday that former Everton and Man United manager David Moyes is one of the frontrunners for the job, and Villa fans have not reacted kindly to that news.
The Scot has had a fairly torrid time since leaving Everton, enduring poor spells with Man United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham. His reputation is in tatters, and fans at Villa Park are not willing to let him try and rebuild his career.
