Villa fans couldn’t get enough of Tommy Elphick’s wise words on Smith

Aston Villa fans will agree almost entirely with a recent article on them in The Guardian. Journalist Ben Fisher writes about the club’s struggles for a playoff spot and how they need to seriously stand up if they’re to finish in the top six this season. Tommy Elphick contributed to the article, and the Villains loved the defender’s words.

Elphick spoke about how Dean Smith has come in and changed things up, commenting on how he believes that the current structure is a much more reliable one as they aim for promotion back to the Premier League as opposed to the way things went for the Villa Park faithful as they faced either promotion of financial instability until Nassef Sawiris came in and saved them.

The former Bournemouth man came across in a superb light and the Villains couldn’t help but note how tuned in their 31-year-old centre-back sounded, with supporters noting that he may have a future in management. Villa fans will be able to take comfort from Elphick’s comments, and even if they don’t go up this season, good times are no doubt on the horizon for the club.
