Villa fans on Twitter loved seeing Grabban back at Villa Park

Lewis Grabban made a return to Villa Park on Wednesday evening. The 30-year-old striker was a great signing by Aitor Karanka over the summer and he’s already proved his worth, with 12 goals this season in the 19 Championship games that have been played this season, with two of those coming at Villa Park yesterday.

Grabban was quick to take to Twitter after the game to thank the travelling Forest fans for their support, and also to commemorate the Villa supporters for the fantastic reception they gave him, and they returned the love on social media. Last season saw Grabban bag eight times in 18 games for Aston Villa after he joined the club mid-season and his short time in Birmingham obviously left its mark on the striker.

This season, with a full campaign in the Championship giving him time to show what he can really do and so far he is truly thriving. The goals will do him good after his career had stalled somewhat at Bournemouth and now he can get back to doing what he does best: scoring goals. The Villains, though, will hope that he can make a Villa Park return one day, and bag some more goals in front of the Holte End.

The Villains absolutely loved Grabban during his time at the club and they’d love to see him return one day.
