Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling suitably excited with them lodging a bid for Henri Lansbury – as reported by The Birmingham Mail.
The local Villans punters here by the bar are feeling quietly confident that a play-off challenge is still on the cards this season and under Steve Bruce you certainly wouldn’t put it past them.
They’ll need a little more quality, our landlord believes though, to challenge as their defeat last time out against Cardiff suggested and that could come in the shape of Nottingham Forest’s Lansbury.
The midfielder is one of the most creative and talented forces in the Championship but with Forest lacking the consistency needed to get up the table he could just fancy a move to Villa Park.
According to the report, Villa evidently feel they can prise him away as they have bidded £3 million for the Forest skipper’s services and so it remains to be seen now whether the move goes ahead.
Our landlord thinks it’d be a great deal for Villa and could see Lansbury enjoying a decent career under Bruce.
Would you take Lansbury, Villa fans? Let us know below!
